MADE FROM WOODEN SPOONS

Puppet Recipe

Ingredients:

1 Wooden Spoon for a head and handle
1 Fabric Piece (10 by 20 inches) for a costume
1 Pipe Cleaner for arms
1 Piece of Ribbon (12 inches) for a belt
Glue, Markers, Scissors
You can also use: yarn, beads, buttons, a magazine.

1.  Draw a face on the bowl of the spoon. You can also draw on hair, or tie together some yarn to make a little puppet wig, and glue it on.
2.   Cut a tiny hole in the center of the fabric, so you can slide the handle of the spoon through it, up to the neck of your puppet. A little glue will hold it up.
3.   Twist the middle of the pipe cleaner tightly around the spoon handle and fabric, extending the arms outward. You can bend the elbows, and create little hands if you want to. Your basic puppet is ready to decorate! How about a hat, necktie, apron, or pockets?
Another method of making the face: Look through a magazine for features to glue on your spoon. Hint: It's ok if they don't match. Sometimes it's better!
